Some leather uppers have been finished with a coating of oil that allows for a more distressed look, and rich color variation. It is normal for oiled leather uppers to display superficial scuffs or what can look like scratches. These markings, though intentional, will self-neutralize as the leather flexes and bends with wear. You can also try rubbing them with your finger as your natural body heat can help redistribute the oiled coating of the leather. If you prefer a more uniform look where the straps are all the same color, we suggest a suede leather, smooth leather or one of our synthetic materials such as Birkibuc or Birko-Flor.
